SEOUL, March 7: Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) has secured an agreement with Prasar Bharati, The Broadcasting Corporation of India, to launch its international television channel, KBS World, in India.
KBS World is carried via DD Direct +, a free-to-air DTH platform open to local Indian households. Some 5 million viewers with DD Direct +’s set-top box can watch KBS World at no further monthly charge, while 7,000 Koreans residing in India as well as 70,000 Korean visitors to India can also watch KBS World 24/7. The deal comes to a close after nearly one-and-a-half years of negotiations.
