Updated AIR Bangalore SW DRM schedule



All India Radio, Bangalore which has re-commissioned its 500 KW DRM SW transmitter with effect from 3rd August, 2018 started limited DRM transmissions has now expanded its SW DRM schedule with effect from 28th Aug, 2018.

All India Radio, Bangalore back with DRM SW transmissions


All India Radio, Bangalore has re-commissioned its 500 KW DRM SW transmitter with effect from 3rd August, 2018. DRM transmissions were off air since 27th Feb 2017 due the main tube failed.

Tentative schedule in DRM mode :

European Beam at 320 deg
1820-2230 UTC (2350-0400 IST) - 7550 kHz

Japanese beam at 90 deg
2245-0045 UTC (0415-0615 IST) - 7550 kHz

New DRM (Digital radio Mondiale) transmission schedule for All India Radio External Services via Bengaluru with effect from 16 Aug 2015 :

Note: Two programs are broadcast simultaneously using single frequency in most cases.

AIR DRM Test Transmission with multiple programmes from SPT Bangalore

All India Radio will be conducting trial transmission in DRM mode with multiple programmes from SPT Bangalore as per below :


Date : 20th April to 30th April, 2015 (Extended after 30th April 2015 until further notice)


1745 - 2230 UTC (2315-0400 IST) - 7550 kHz to UK & West Europe


Programme 1 = GOSIV/HINDI/GOS-V
Programme 2 = Vividh Bharati


Consequently GOS V Service from 2045-2230 UTC (0215 -0400 IST) on 11620 kHz to Aus/NZ will be shifted from DRM mode to analog mode.

AIR Bengaluru on the road to DRM

MUMBAI: With digital stated to be as the future of radio, most stations of All India Radio are aiming to rope in Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) transmitters to improve its transmission and content quality. After successfully testing the signals as part of a live in-car demo, the DRM signals will now be tested in AIR Bengaluru to monitor the quality of broadcast.

AIR Bengaluru will be testing DRM signals for the entire week commencing Monday, using a 500 kW transmitter for their Vividh Bharati Service on 9870 kHz

9425 AIR Bangalore sign on at 1320 UTC
9470 AIR Aligarh sign on at 1320 UTC

AIR Bangalore to launch 15 new programmes from I-Day

Bangalore: All India Radio will launch 15 new programme form Independence day to keep itself shoulder to shoulder in the competitive world. Talking to newspersons in Bangalore, Station Director Chetan S Naik said the new programmes were prepared keeping in view the interests of all sections of the society including farmers, women, children, youth, senior citizens, politicians and scribes.
