New-look bbcvietnamese.com website offers more interactivity

BBC World Service has re-launched its bbcvietnamese.com website with a new-look, enhanced interactivity and user-generated content and other improved functions and features. The new, wide format, site offers Vietnamese-speaking audiences the opportunity to post their own photography and video clips as well as emails with their news stories and audio comments. Other new features of the revamped site include special sections covering the United Kingdom and Premiership Football. In addition to the BBC's latest international news and information in text, audio and video, users can continue to listen to the BBC Vietnamese radio programmes online and watch BBC video news clips. Head of BBC Vietnamese, Giang Nguyen, says: "In the previous months, bbcvietnamese.com has received up to 21 million page impressions a month, and the number of unique users has increased by more than 60% between January 2008 and January 2009. "The new-look website has exciting new features and design which, in addition to showcasing our best editorial content, allow us to accommodate even wider user participation. Interactivity performs especially well as users of our website welcome the opportunity to add their comments to global debates. "That is why, as a next step, we are planning to set up message boards on bbcvietnamese.com where our users can post their views on various issues and developments. All this will help us to further expand our audience base among Vietnamese-speakers and engage them, wherever they are, in a global conversation."
