MEDIA BROADCAST broadcasts football radio via DAB

Bonn, 20 March 2009
MEDIA BROADCAST and REGIOCAST DIGITAL, organizer of the football channel 90eleven, have reached an agreement to pilot a radio broadcast via Digital Radio using the DAB standard (Digital Audio Broadcasting). The radio program, which was previously available via DVB-T and on the Internet, has been broadcasting on the DAB networks in Berlin and Brandenburg since March 19, 2009. The pilot test is being undertaken to establish the level of public acceptance of the channel via digital terrestrial broadcast. In addition, 90eleven will shortly be broadcast in and around Leipzig within the framework of a DAB+ trial run of the State Media Authority of Saxony for private broadcasting and media - SLM (Sächsische Landesanstalt für privaten Rundfunk und neue Medien). The first football radio station in Germany is a 24-hour service for football fans. At the core of the broadcast are reports on first and second division matches, background reports on this very popular sport, as well as interactive offers for listeners.
