With the number of shortwave broadcasters dwindling, particularly in the Western world, Ruxandra Obreja, chair of the DRM consortium, looks at how to best fill the lingering gap in wide-range coverage. She believes a global effort is necessary to successfully implement digital radio and ensure it also reaches the desolate, rural areas that need it most.

The Digital Radio Mondiale Consortium features in the first DRM e-book published by leading industry publication Radio World International (www.radioworld.com).

The e-book "DRM Drives Forward" includes in its 25 pages updates, succinct news, information and articles authored by key DRM members, Ampegon, BBC, Fraunhofer IIs, Kintronics, Nautel and RFmondial.
