All India Radio Mysuru (FM 100.6) launches mobile app "AIR Mysuru Live"

All India Radio, Mysuru had started live streaming of its programmes through its website www.airmysuru.com in April this year. It has drawn huge positive response from the listeners from different parts of the world. 

For the ease of the listeners and to make live streaming more user friendly, a mobile application was developed and dedicated to listeners on from 15th August 2018.AIR Mysuru's official app " AIR Mysuru Live" offers a bouquet of information, entertainment and public service rendered mainly in Kannada with certain programmes in Hindi etc. It caters to the cultural needs of mobile – wielding listening by Kannadigas living in India and Abroad. It cares for Nostalgic Indians living far away from Karnataka and missing mother tongue Kannada.

Mobile application is available free of cost from google play store. Listeners having Android Mobile Phones may down load it and can enjoy AIR Mysuru FM 100.6. Besides, Mobile App also gives you option to listen National News in English & Regional News in Kannada. Morning, Mid Day & Evening News are available for next 24 hours till these are replaced. All India Radio, Mysuru launches new website


The tiny radio station that gave the name 'Akashavani' to the broadcasting system of the country has introduced a new website on trial basis.

All India Radio, Mysuru has launched a new comprehensive multimedia website, the new website encompasses everything that AIR Mysuru has to offer – history, technical and programming info, live audio, photo's, and utilities like advertisment booking, guest room booking, CD/DVD sales and  information on tenders.

The website has a refreshing color concept and modern design that gives the site a friendly face, it has a rich blend of text, pictures and audio components, and features live streaming of All India Radio Mysuru's radio programmes.

It also offers integration of various social media platforms, making it easier for the user to enter into dialogue with AIR Mysuru.

The Mysore All India Radio station, which was started in 1935, turned 75 in 2010, but the radio station celebrated the completion of 75 years by way of a year-long celebration.

Platinum Jubilee of AIR Mysore

Mysore, Sept. 15 (BRS)- The function to celebrate the 75th year (platinum jubilee) of broadcasting from Akashvani here will be held at 5.30 pm on September 19 in Jaganmohan Palace auditorium, according to a press release from Dr. M.S. Vijaya, Station Director of Akashvani.

Decades ago, before TV, long before news became entertainment, when ITstill meant income tax, when technology and 'truth' were somehowconsidered akin (it was a short electromagnetic leap from Marconi toMelville de Mello...) radio ruled the waves. That was the time whendinner was not served till the master of the house had listened to the9 o'clock on All India Radio — and if it was the voice of de Mello orLatika Ratnam or Surajit Sen, how could the news be doubted?
