New 300 kW Weekly Broadcast of VORW Radio International to East Asia !

Beginning Thursday the 30th of October '2025 and continuing every Thursday, VORW radio program will now be heard across East Asia thanks to a 300 kW Transmitter in Paochung, Taiwan.

The broadcast is beamed to Japan and the Korean Peninsula but it should be audible across all of East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Pacific and perhaps into the Americas as well.

The program is 1 hour in length and the aim of this radio show is to provide good music and news commentary to listeners worldwide. Oftentimes, listener music requests are taken and played – and all are invited to participate.

VORW Radio International on Mondays via Issoudun

Beginning Monday the 11th of November, 2024 and continuing every Monday – VORW radio program will now be heard across the Asian Continent and beyond thanks to 250 kW of power from the transmitting facility in Issoudun, France.

 

Using their ALLISS Antenna, this broadcast will be beamed East from France, blanketing Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast asia and Australia !

 

The broadcast is 1 hour in length and the aim of this radio show is to provide good music and news commentary to listeners worldwide. Oftentimes, listener music requests are taken and played – and all are invited to participate.

Hello shortwave listeners!

I wanted to share an exciting update about a new high power broadcast I'll be doing for listeners in Africa, Europe and beyond!

Beginning Monday the 11th of December, 2023 and continuing every Monday – this radio program will now be heard across Africa, Europe & Beyond from a high power transmitter in Issoudun, France.

The broadcast is 1 hour in length and I always consider it to be a light entertainment program. The aim of this radio show is to provide good music and occasional news commentary to listeners worldwide. Oftentimes, listener music requests are taken and played and all are invited to participate.

There will be a special broadcast of VORW Radio International this Saturday, 22nd Aug'20 with 300 kW of power for listeners in Europe and Asia!

The show will be broadcast live from Moosbrunn, Austria on 6070 kHz and will feature a fun hour of good music and commentary.

Happy August! In today's newsletter I will be addressing a number of schedule changes, unfortunately a good number of broadcasts have been discontinued due to lack of funding. Donations to keep this program on the air are always appreciated via PayPal to vorwinfo@gmail.com

Our main change is that the broadcast via WBCQ on 7490 kHz, previously at 5 PM Eastern (21 UTC) every Thursday is now at 9 PM Eastern every Thursday (01 UTC FRI). All broadcasts to Europe and North America on Saturdays and Sundays are cancelled.

The current broadcast schedule is below! VORW Radio Int. is a weekly light entertainment radio show, featuring miscellaneous talk and listener-requested music. It's a laid back program where you can hear music of all genres and eras and even learn a thing or two about the songs and artists played! You can listen in regularly or infrequently and still be able to perfectly follow the show.

Schedule Changes of VORW Radio International - Newsletter 4

Dear VORW Radio Listeners,

It has been almost two months since the last newsletter has been sent out, in the time that has elapsed there are several schedule changes to report.

As of Thursday (June 1st) transmissions to East Asia on 9875 kHz and transmissions to Europe on 11580 kHz will be discontinued. The transmission on 9875 kHz has been discontinued due to low modulation of the signal, causing listeners difficulty to hear what is being said during the broadcast. The 11580 kHz transmission is being discontinued due to poor signals in the target area.

Despite the bad news, starting June 1st, a transmission on 7730 kHz at 0000 UTC (8 PM Eastern) will begin, targeting listeners in Western North America. This transmission will be heard every Thursday. There is also a new transmission on 7490 kHz at 2200 UTC (6 PM Eastern) every Sunday to Eastern North America - you could even tune in to that broadcast tomorrow!

The timing of all shortwave transmissions has changed due to Daylight Saving Time in the United States, please consult the schedule below in order to plan your listening schedule accordingly. 

Likewise, the transmission to Europe has now changed frequencies. Broadcasts to Europe will now be heard on 11580 kHz at 2000 UTC, that converts to 8 PM GMT / 4 PM Eastern.

VORW Radio International's test transmission on March 9th at 1200 UTC on 12085 kHz

VORW Radio International will have a test transmission on March 9th at 1200 UTC on the frequency of 12085 kHz via a 100 kW transmitter in Uzbekistan. While the transmission is directed to East Asia, reception of this test in India should be fair to good.

VORW Radio International is the official External Service of TheReportOfTheWeek, whose mission is to provide an enjoyable light entertainment program over the airwaves. Programs consist of a short lecture at the beginning, followed by a session of music, exclusively comprised of listener requested tunes.

Programs have been continuously on the air since December 22nd, 2016 though they have been on shortwave sporadically since January of 2015.
