Ever heard of station's RDS display being hacked ?

A Houston hip-hop and R&B station is investigating how an offensive word was broadcast to digital radio displays across the city.

Listeners tweeted images Sunday night that showed KBXX 97.9 The Box broadcasting the N-word on radio displays where song info is typically shown. The audio portion of the broadcast was apparently not affected.

Updated RDS standard 'RDS2' to be launched in 2016

The international group RDS Forum, meeting in Switzerland, announced it plans an updated RDS standard, to launch in 2016. It said it hopes to establish this in collaboration with the NRSC RBDS subcommittee, with the goal of "a unified platform for FM broadcasting and data services worldwide."

Massive storm takes Delhi FM stations off air

Asia Radio Today reports that five FM stations Radio One 94.3 FM, Big 92.7 FM, Fever 104 FM, Oye 104.8 FM and Hit 95 FM here in New Delhi  went off air after a massive storm damaged one of the city's main transmitting towers last Friday.

Meanwhile Radio One, Hit FM & Big FM were still struggling to come on air, meanwhile Big FM & Radio One was back on air with full power however Hit FM was noted with weak signal, probably using a low power stand by txer.

Interestingly All India Radio's FM Gold Channel on 106.4 MHz was noted with RDS.None of the AIR station's uses RDS.
