FRS-Holland will again take to the air next Sunday November 18th

Dear FRS Friends,

I N V I T A T I O N

Following our October 28th broadcast three weeks ago, FRS-Holland will again take to the air next Sunday November 18th. Between 09:00- 10:30 UTC / 10:00- 11:30 CET both 30 min. editions of FRS goes DX will be repeated as well as the FRS Golden Show. The latter suffered from heavy interference from a legal station on 7600 kHz during the October broadcast.

Our next full broadcast will be over the Holiday Season. Either on Sunday December 23rd or on Sunday December 30th FRS-Holland will continue a long time tradition. And that means we invite you- the listener– to participate. Forward your very own personal Season's Greetings to the Free Radio Service Holland and we will make sure it'll be read out during our broadcast. You can dedicate your greetings to friends etc. but you can also make a 'general' NY Greeting. It can be written or (preferably!) taped (cassette, CD, MD or MP3 file) and send to P.O.Box 2702, 6049 ZG Herten in the Netherlands.
Of course the easy & quick way is by sending an e-mail to <frs@frsholland.nl >. You can add something special to our December broadcast by participating. So….don't hesitate and take part in the FRS Seasonal Party that day. It'll be great fun. Make sure your contribution reaches us in time....before December 9th. We are looking forward hearing from you !!! Tune in December...it'll be worth while!!! Go and tell your friends...

In December FRSH will be on 7600//5800 kHz for at least 5 hours. Pxs will be presented by Jan van Dijk doing the German show. Dave Scott will be playing classic rock and has a few interesting radio related items. we are very happy that Roger Davis (Britain Radio Int.) has joined the FRS ranks. He will be hosting his debut show....it'll be another classic FRS Golden Show with great (and rare!) 60s/ 70s stuff as well as a feature on a landbased pirate radio station from years gone by. Peter Verbruggen will look back to what happened in the past (Day Calendar) en plays a mix of 80s/90s/00s records in FRS Magazine. He will also host FRS Goes DX with the latest news from the wonderful world of wireless .
During the programmes we will read out October mail and Season's Greetings. There also is the Phrase that Pays'. FRS will most likely commence at 07.52 UTC/ 08.52 CET . Most likely that day FRS will likely also be heard via the Internet. Very soon we will inform you about the definitive date: December 23rd or December 30th....

Good listening next Sunday!

FRS on air next Sunday evening June 19th

Dear FRS Friends,

If you have just joined our address book and this is the first mail you are receiving, be welcome as member of the FRS family! Next Sunday (June 19th) FRS-Holland will be on air with full programming. Opposite to our usual broadcasts, this one will take place in the evening hours between 16:52- 22:00 UTC/ 18:52- 24:00 CEST. FRS-Holland will be on 7685kHz avoiding 7600 and 7595 interference during the first part of the broadcast. 7685 isn't affected by adjacent channels being used by other stations. Especially during the last part of the broadcast it will be interesting if & how signals will be received to the east (Russia, Ukraine etc.).
We will take our time...it'll be an 'old fashioned' long FRS broadcast: 5 hours!!. Our full staff will be involved including Paul Graham who was absent for quite some time. This time we will deviate from the usual schedule: 3 blocks of resp. 60s, 70s and 80s tracks, a DX Show and a show with mostly tunes. We will handle no letters, there's no Phrase that Pays, the music comes first! Although each show will include 1 or 2 short radio related items !

We like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of you who responded to our brief evening tests May 22nd (7685). These two 15 min. tests were widely heard across Europe and beyond. For 30 minutes we received some 30 reports. And last but not least: we will soon start replying to the many, many listeners who responded to one or more of our 30th Anniversary broadcasts back in October & November 2010 and February 2011. FRS has produced a special & informative commemorative 30th Anniversary booklet which will be available to each and everyone who sent a report/ letter. This booklet is almost finished. So please have a little more patience, you will get your special QSL card(s) and the booklet.
Thanks for your patience and understanding!!

Hope you are able to tune in next Sunday. We hope the full June 19th shows will go out via the Internet one week later, Sunday June 26th. More news about that will follow.

FRS Holland 30 Years

Hello FRS-Holland Friends,

FRS-Holland has officially become 30 Years old, that was on Tuesday August 31st.
Following our previous mail from a few weeks ago, we have received a number of contributions.
We would like to inform you we still hope to receive some more.....if you are/ were an enthusiast FRS listener, then take your chance to produce a little personal contribution, your personal FRS memories.

Either you put them 1) on a sheet of paper or 2) send them by mail and 3) most wanted: record your personal message and send an mp3 audio file. We realize most listeners are no deejays and do not have no recording facilities. Of course any written contribution is as much appreciated as a recorded one!!
All listener's contributions will be collected and together it will be our anthology of 30 years of SW broadcasts. When did you hear us for the first time, what was your favorite show, when did you get your first QSL, how much did you listen to FRS, any special on air moments you remember? All this info could be part of your personal FRS contribution.
Send your contribution to : frs@frsholland.nl or PO Box 2702, 6049 ZG Herten, The Netherlands.

Preparations continue day by day... Many tape recordings have been digitalized and endless audio extracts have been produced. The broadcast will contain many ingredients...special jingles, a listener's competition, interesting contributions, fantastic music and some nice surprises... And
not to forget a unique FRS 30 years QSL. Be part of the festivities...we are eagerly awaiting more contributions !!
Very soon we will announce dates as the on air celebrations will be more than one broadcast! The first one in October.

All the best from all of us at FRSH.

Peter Verbruggen

FRSH's 30th anniversary

Hello FRS-Holland Friends,

Already some time ago we informed you about the upcoming FRS 30 Years celebrations. In the mean time we have received a number of contributions, we feel the on air celebration would be incomplete without our listeners' input! Of course contributions from colleague SW stations are also very much appreciated.

Still we haven't heard from many listeners whose contribution would be much appreciated. We are talking about many faithful listeners who already tuned long time ago. For us at FRSH your contribution is 'invaluable' !!

So we once again appeal on you....
Preparations are in an advanced stage and we once again invite you as FRSH listener to participate. Instead of writing a letter following a broadcast, we kindly ask for your personal FRS memories. Either you put them 1) on a sheet of paper or send them by mail and 2) most wanted: record your personal message and send an mp3 audio file.

Send your contribution to <frs@frsholland.nl> or POBox 2702, 6049 ZG Herten, the Netherlands.

All the best from all of us at FRSH.

May 30th- on the 5th Sunday- FRS will take to the air from 07.52- 12.45 UTC (6400) and 13.52-18.45 UTC (7600). The morning/ early afternoon shows will be repeated as from 13.52 UTC onwards. Right now there is still an option to use a 2nd frequency in parallel, we will inform you about that at a later stage. Expect the usual mix of music & information.

2010: 30 Years of FRS-Holland on Short Wave

In the mean time FRS is preparing the 30th anniversary which will take placed in October 2010. Five years ago, FRS would have been celebrating its 25th birthday but that celebration had to be cancelled due to personal circumstances. Sad but true. This year things are looking different and we feel it's time to do a big on air celebration. And that will certainly happen !
But: we feel that an on air celebration would be incomplete without our listeners' input!

Therefore we explicitly invite you as FRSH listener to participate:

"2010 will be a very special year for all at FRSH: 30 years on the air! We will be celebrating this later in 2010. We invite our listening audience to participate in the celebrations later this year. We'd like to receive your personal FRS memories. Put them on a sheet of paper or send them by mail and most wanted: record your personal message and send an mp3 audio file. All listener's contributions will be collected and together it will be our anthology of 30 years of SW broadcasts. When did you hear us for the first time, what was your favourite show, when did you get your first QSL, how much did you listen to FRS, any special on air moments you remember? All this info could be part of your personal FRS contribution. For any serious contribution, we have a nice surprise and that is a promise!"

Important: as we have to do a lot of preparations for that very special broadcast, we urge to send your contribution as soon as possible!
