This old clock in Pondy recites Thirukkural, will provide news bulletins
PUDUCHERRY: Have you heard of a clock tower reciting couplets from Thirukkural? Here is one such vintage tower, which has got the attention of Puducherry residents after its recent restoration. Arrangements are also being made for a news broadcast from the tower with the help of All India Radio.

Radio news broadcast completes 89 years

The radio news broadcast completed its 89 years on 23rd July with first ever news bulletin in the country being aired from the Bombay Station on July 23, 1927.
The first bulletin was aired by a private company called the Indian Broadcasting Company.

New Media Platforms of All India Radio to be launched today
Information & Broadcasting Minister, Govt. of India will launch the New Media Platforms of All India Radio viz. Audio Live-streaming of Urdu Service & FM Gold Channel, Mobile Applications on Android–based mobile phones, You Tube Channel of All India Radio today at 1630 hrs IST.
