AIR special transmission in Urdu to Middle East for Haj Pilgrims

All India Radio will broadcast half an hour daily service in Urdu to Saudi Arabia for HajPilgrims from 1st December 2006 to 29th January 2007.

    Sir, firstly compliments on your DXing -
    gratified to find someone from the subcontinent; I came to this page after seeing your name on the DXLD bulletin.

    I am a frustrated listener of AIR's Urdu service :-( from the Bangalore area. The problems began after AIR-VV scrapped their daily 2100 GHazal program. With a Philips DL259 portable, I face frequent hassles in tuning into AIR Urdu during the 0630-0730 slot in any of their 60, 49, 31 or 25 m band frequencies.

    Could you suggest a good, locally available, radio and whether that would improve reception ?.
