We've receiving entries from all over the world - Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, the UAE and Europe, for example - but many broadcasters and production companies have called us and asked for more time to submit their entries. We have responded and extended the closing date to 31 July - three weeks later than our original date.

If you're unfamiliar with the AIBs, here's a little more information. Now in their fifth year, the AIBs reward success in international television, radio, mobile and online. They also highlight excellence in production technology and in marketing - two vitally important components in the international media industry. One reason for the continued growth and success of the AIBs is that they complement other awards that have a national focus. Entering the AIBs puts your work in front of a global audience of peers in the media industry. The AIBs are unique as they have been designed by and for the international media industry, offering independent peer recognition of achievements and success. Since their launch in 2005, the AIBs have become a high-point in the international media calendar. To reflect the international nature of the Awards, the AIB recruits an independent panel of judges from media houses worldwide - this year we have judges from every continent.
Celebrating success in different genres
Categories for the AIBs include clearest coverage of a single news event; best current affairs documentary; best creative feature; most creative marketing strategy; and best mobile or cross-media production. The best on-air talent is also recognised with our personality of the year - one for radio and one for TV. Our most innovative technology award rewards the most innovative technological solutions provided in production or distribution. We actively encourage programme makers who produce material in languages other than English to enter and have their work recognised. The Award entrants will come together in London on 4 November for a gala evening that will celebrate their work in the amazing surroundings of LSO St Luke's - a venue that regularly hosts major artists such as Sting, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John, recording HD sessions for the BBC.
